School based hours should total 55 hours, the remaining 20 hours must be earned independently.
Independent service-learning hours must be pre-approved by the school guidance counselor.
Forms for Independent Service-Learning hours can be found on the Caroline County web page.
Slides that were presented during the meeting can be found on the PTA Facebook page as well as the PTA website.
Mr. Gibbons stressed that the minimum requirement to graduate is 75. However, earning more will help when applying for scholarships and with college.

Keyana informed the parents that a huge portion of the membership income are used to pay for state fees.
Prior year fundraising events included bake sales, Back to School Night, Spring Walk, spring festival, dine to donate, silent auction, Kona Ice and an online silent auction.
The budget for the present school year was approved by everyone present.
Michelle discussed future service-learning opportunities as well as fundraising.
Prior year’s events will also be planned for the current school year.
The next fundraising event will the Fall Trot to be held in October at the school.
Michelle asked if anyone wanted to join a dance committee. This committee would be responsible for setting up, decorations, chaperoning and cleaning up all the dances, including the 8th grade dance.
One of the parents suggested creating an 8th grade dance committee. The PTA should provide a budget to the 8th grade dance committee. The parents on the committee should raise any other additional funds needed for the 8th grade dance.
